Introducing: Linda Hang

Recently Linda Hang joined our Barbour team as the new Editorial Assistant of Acquisitions.

1. Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I’m the epitome of staying close to home. I grew up in the Canton area of Ohio, and that is where I remain today.

2. What is the last book you read?
Agatha Christie’s A Pocket Full of Rye

3. What is your favorite non-productive thing to do?
Sleeping in

4. Do you have a favorite place in the world?
I love the Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania, specifically Cook Forest, where my family has gone camping ever since I was little. The forest is beautiful, and there are plenty of trails to explore and rivers for kayaking.

5. What interests you about the publishing industry?
It fascinates me to see the process where an idea, after countless hours of work by dozens of people, takes the form of a finished book.

6. What brought you to Barbour?
Having graduated from Kent State University as an English major, I started looking for jobs related to publishing. I began to think that my job search would inevitably lead to New York or Chicago when I discovered Barbour Publishing in Uhrichsville, Ohio. It was a perfect fit—a job in publishing, close to home, and rooted in Christian faith.

7. Your position at Barbour is a new one, so what will your role entail?
As Editorial Assistant of Acquisitions, I’ll be working with the acquisitions editors to make sure that projects stay on track before entering proofreading, communicating with authors and editors about projects, helping with marketing copy, editing, and anything else that comes up along the way.

So nice to get to know you, Linda. My father grew up in Salineville, and I love visiting eastern Ohio.

Welcome Linda! I'm a big fan of Barbour books and am glad you've "joined their family"! ~ I can identify with staying close to home, as I've lived in the same general area my entire life (and I'm "middle-aged" LOL).
Blessings from Georgia, Patti Jo Moore :)
