From Broadway to Cattle Ranch

Christine Lynxwiler kicks off a new Arkansas ranch setting series with The Reluctant Cowgirl, the first of The McCord Sisters trio.
Actress Crystal McCord gave up the closeness of her big family in order to make a name for herself on the New York City stage. But when life in the Big Apple turns sour, she follows a country road back to her parents’ Arkansas ranch. The last thing she expects to find in cowboy country is a new leading man. Still, she can’t help but imagine handsome rancher Jeremy Buchanan in the role. Unfortunately, Jeremy’s been burned by Crystal’s type before. Or has he? Every time he thinks he knows her, the multi-faceted woman surprises him. Will the reluctant pair allow their hearts to guide them, or will their common stubborn pride keep them miles apart?
Cheryl Hanson of Romantic Times said: "This old-fashioned romance set in present-day Arkansas is the first book in Lynxwiler's fantastic new must-read McCord Sisters series. Crystal and Jeremy begin as friends, and their love develops over time. Be prepared to drop everything and settle down in a nice cozy place, because you will not want to leave Crystal and Jeremy until their story is told."

Chris is currently doing a book tour in Michigan with 3 other Barbour fiction authors that you can read about here. Track her down and get this new released signed.

Chris once again takes this lover of historical novels and thoroughly entertains him with a contemporary story. As copyeditor, I can tell you that this book has all of the things you look for: compelling characters with strong family ties, an engaging plot with elements of suspense, and Chris's welcome touches of humor. If you loved the Pinky books, you will also find a couple of pleasant surprises. Don't miss this one!

I started reading this on the way home from Michigan on Saturday---and was well into chapter seven before I knew it! I can't wait to settle down with it when I can give it my complete, undivided attention.

And I have to say, on the book signing tour, with so many wonderful books and book covers on the table, invariably, THE RELUCTANT COWGIRL was the first book that every single person who walked up to the table picked up! It's like they were magnetically drawn to it. And I don't blame them!
