A Long-Awaited, Handsome Hero

Christian ladies aren't suppose to drool all over pictures of handsome guys, but we can respectfully appreciate God's creation. Right?

For several months, I've seen this book cover posted in many offices and cubicles. There has certainly been a buzz of anticipation for this book's release around the office.

This cover model may have won a photo contest on Petticoats & Pistols blog (note he won it as the only fully clothed cowboy) and his presence on the cover alone may sell a million books -- but Christine Lynxwiler has penned a touching woman's journey within this cover that can't be overlooked.

Romantic Times says: "Romance takes a backseat to a more poignant story of a woman's struggle to overcome her past. Readers will reflect on the healing power of forgiveness and the importance of family." (4 stars)

Whoever warned mamas not to let their babies grow up to be cowboys never saw the man in Dr. Rachel Donovan’s waiting room.

But good-looking cowboys should come with their own warning – TROUBLE!

At seventeen, Rachel’s illusions about romance were trampled by a rogue cowboy. In the fifteen years since, she’s steered clear of spurs and Stetsons—until she finds herself roped into chairing the Shady Grove Centennial Rodeo Committee. How will she handle working so closely with the one man in town she most wants to avoid?

Ex-rodeo star Jack Westwood never forgot his unrequited teenage fascination for Rachel Donovan, but now that he’s back in town, he barely recognizes the woman she’s become. Jack can’t help but wonder. . .is the feisty cowgirl he remembers still there beneath the shuttered exterior?

When a secret from long ago comes knocking, Rachel fights to maintain her sterling reputation. But can the woman who has devoted her life to healing others allow God to mend her own hurts? Will she seize the opportunity to reconcile with her past and open her heart to love again?

Don't miss the May release of Along Came a Cowboy by Christine Lynxwiler.

Make a comment here by Monday, and we'll put your name in for a drawing to receive this new book hot of the press.

I was very fortunate as I got to edit this fantastic book. As always, Chris mixes the right amount of pathos and hilarity to keep any reader, not just female ones, turning pages looong into the night! Great job, Chris!!!

No, don't enter me in the contest, but I just had to chime in and say thanks for saying such nice things about Along Came a Cowboy, Becky (and Aaron!) And thanks to everyone else who said nice things about me, in general. Lynette, yes, this is Rachel's story. She's the chiropractor in Promise Me Always. Oh and just for the record, I updated my blog on my website this afternoon. So if you went over to check it out and said, "December??", please go back. LOL.

I'm jealous, Aaron! It sounds like it would have been a fun one to work on. Not like I don't have enough work of my own... :-)

Way to go, Christine. And a cover to make your book "sale" on through! Great combination. Hope it does well.

The summary of the book sounds great. I can't wait.

And I'm SURE this is the guy who won the contest on Petticoats and Pistols.

A strong viewer advisory about the hunky cowboy contest....

This book sounds great and the cover isn't too shabby either!

Great work, guys.

I hope everyone understood that I meant the cover rocked!

After I sent my comment, I realized that maybe the entire world doesn't equate "ain't too shabby" as being a compliment.
