Some New Marketing for Heartsong

Here's a photo of my new marketing technique for Heartsong Presents. I'm using a stylish Heartsong Presents tote bag for Lilly's diaper bag! The bag goes with me everywhere I go with her, so the logo is getting a lot of exposure. LOL! Maybe it will generate interest in and conversation about our wonderful line of books!

What are some unique marketing tactics you've used for your books?

I use my red bag as a computer bag sometimes. That way people see it if I attend a class or workshop. I love my HP bag!!

Something I've done to market my books locally is to rent a both at an arts and craft fair. I have personalized pencils that I hand out, plus lots of bookmarks and postcards advertising my books. I also recently attended a local Christian concert and was able to set up a booth to let people know about my books. I never know if these people buy my books later, but they seem happy to learn about me.

How cool!

I recently got the news that a bookstore in the UK was ordering my books because of the lady who took some of my books over there to give to friends.

She went into a bookstore in Ireland that had some HPs already and talked to the bookstore owner who promptly looked my name up on the HP site and ordered some! :D

So my most unique marketing? Having Nancy S. travel to Ireland!

Last week I crashed the 30th Romance, Arkansas Community Reunion. Actually, I was invited, but since I'm not from the community, I felt like a crasher. My books are set in Romance, so I sold some books and a lot of people heard about me.

Such a little beauty, JoAnne. Hard to even notice the bag.

What do I do to market my book?

Hmmmm....

I try to think what I AM and connect with people who are the same.

A rancher-speak at Husker Harvest Days.
A small town girl--contact area newspapers.
A Christian--contact publications associated with my denomination as well as Christianity.
A teacher--contact education publications.
A Nebraska--contact NebraskLand Magazine and other things like that.
A mom...you get the drift, right?

Hmm, how do I get one of those bags?

As for marketing? I railroaded a lot of friends into reading the book and talking about it on FB and blogs and Goodreads.com, etc.

In the very near future, it's going to get some coverage in New Jersey, the setting. It's going to places that sell blown glass in the hope they will carry a few copies.

I bought a button maker and made a graphic with my book cover on it. I don't know if it sold more books, but it was fun for people to wear at conferences etc. and get the word out. Also, magnets are fun too...
