Feedback Friday

Here's a thank you to all of our Barbour authors and maybe it will inspire all of us to reach out more to others:

"To the Editor,
Since I have no one in my life, I go into these stories and can hardly put them down. They help me make it through each day. I live by myself and a small chihuahua dog.... Thank all your authors for their books. Without them writing and you publishing them, a lot of us would be very lonely."

How I wish the letter writer had a friend. [S]he sounds lonely.

While I share Elaine's sentiment, I am reminding myself that she does have the ultimate Friend and He is Who we have all just been challenged even more to share with readers just like her who depend on the stories we tell. Thank you, JoAnne, for sharing this sobering and humbling reminder with us.

Aww, how sad! That just broke my heart--but also shows one small way we can touch hearts. Wow, I'm praying for this person!

This letter reminds me that some of our readers feel lonely and may be cut off from others for health reasons or other reasons. Our books give them enjoyment and a positive way to feel connected. I am glad we can touch their lives and encourage them.

I agree with Aaron. The faith thread in our stories can bring them comfort and connection with the Lord.

Thanks for sharing this letter with us.

JoAnne,

Thanks for sharing that letter. One of my goals as a writer is to entertain Christians who need some time away, and this letter makes me glad that I've kept at it and am able to touch people with my stories.

I have to agree with Aaron on this one. Thanks, JoAnne for sharing this letter, women like this one are a big part of why I write for the Lord.
