Feedback Friday

I received some feedback recently that made me very sad, and I'd like to ask you all to pray for this Heartsong reader. I won't specify her name or the title of the Heartsong she responded to, but she said about the book, "This theme was great, but realistically, I haven't found that happy endings are true. I keep praying and trusting God to provide for us. I'm beginning to believe God wants us to be miserable."

I'm sure we can all relate to times when we just want to agree with her. Sometimes it seems life is too difficult to handle and a happy ending just isn't possible. But as Christians, no matter how hard life on earth here might be, God does have a happy ending in store for us. In our small group we're studying 1 Corinthians, and this past week we talked about a scripture I find so encouraging: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" (1 Corinthians 2:9).

So, please pray for this reader with me, that she will be encouraged by fellow Christians and will hold to faith that God does indeed have an incredibly happy ending in store for us. Not just a happy ending to this life but an incredible beginning of forever with Him. One not even the most creative writer can possibly dream up!

I will certainly pray for that reader. ~ That verse in 1 Cor. has been one of my (many!) favorites.

I've often wished I could fix people's lives the way I fix my characters' lives. I can pray though.

This reader's comments makes my heart weep. What a sad way to live. Praying God will help her surrender whatever it was that wounded her so badly that it's left her full of bitterness.
