Help and Hope

I’ve been working on the mail and will be sending out batches of reader feedback forms and letters soon, so authors be checking your snail-mailboxes!

These past couple of weeks I’ve had to remember that I don’t and can’t control everything and everyone in my life. (Duh!) I can’t do it all. I can’t make everything perfect. I can only do my best at being the person God wants me to be and the things He has given me to do. And I can always ask for His help. So two recent and similar comments from readers really stood out to me:

On a feedback form for A Love for Keeps by Janet Lee Barton (HP#836), a reader named Elizabeth responded to the question, how has this book inspired your life? Elizabeth said, “It has inspired me to turn problems to the Lord, not try to fix everything myself.”

And on the same question for Outlaw Heart by Vickie McDonough (HP#831) a reader named Bonnie answered, “Look to God for answers, not take into my own hands.”

I just thought how cool that God used these simple comments to add to His gentle reminders for me to cast all my cares on Him. Things like this make me so thankful for and proud of the work God does through Heartsongs. It’s very rewarding to know that our books encourage, uplift, and point readers to God for help and hope.

Have a wonderful weekend, especially all those at CBE right now!

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7

Thanks for sharing this wonderful reminder for us all, JoAnne. One of the verses you quoted (1 Peter 5:7) is my MOST FAVORITE of all the Bible verses!! It has special meaning, because during my 2nd pregnancy, the doctors told me I was carrying a baby with birth defects. I clung to that verse and it gave me peace, and now it's a daily reminder for me (I have a lovely print with this verse in my home). Blessings, Patti Jo P.S. My 2nd baby(Rebecca) was born PERFECT....but going through that time made me a stronger Christian.
