Update to Friday's Post

When I posted on Friday, Jodi was sick with a nasty stomach bug. It got so bad by Friday evening that we thought we were going to have to hospitalize her for dehydration. Thankfully God answered our prayers for her to keep some liquids down and she rested well on Friday night. I just couldn't bear the thought of having to take her to the ER! Needless to say, taking Jodi on her first flight early Saturday morning did not seem like a good idea. Our doctor advised against it, too.

Doug and I caught the bug on Saturday evening, and it is nasty. Our sweet little girl is obviously a little trooper because she seems to be able to handle this better than we do! She is keeping more food and liquid down today. And to top it all off she is getting her first two teeth!

We're trying to rest and recover today and eat very small amounts of food for some nourishment. Unfortunately, the difference in airfare is too high for us to reschedule a flight to Colorado later this week, and I'm not sure we'd be up to it anyway. It's exhausting to go up the stairs! We are so disappointed that our trip didn't work out and that I won't be able to attend CCWC this year.

I am planning on ACFW in Minneapolis in September, so hopefully I will see many of you there! Thanks for your prayers as we recover! I'll post a fun picture of Jodi last week sporting two ponytails!

Feel better soon, JoAnne! I know it's hard taking care of little ones when you feel lousy.

And thanks for the new pic of Jodi! What a doll!

Having a sick baby is the worst! My husband has been sick with the stomach virus, too. We did end up in ER yesterday where they pumped him full of liquids to battle the dehydration. No fun :(

Get better soon!!

That's a sweet picture of Jodi :)

Oh, JoAnne, you poor thing. I remember being sick with sick kids. Guess who doesn't get to crawl into bed and rest...why do you think they invented Mother's Day??? Because of things like this?

And little Jodi, such a cute picture, no sign that she's getting ready to bring down the plague on her parents. :)

Hope you're all feeling better soon. God bless you.

Hope ALL of you are well soon, JoAnne! I know how hard it is to be the care-giver when YOU need some care too! I'm praying for you all. Blessings,

I'm so sorry to hear you've all caught The Bug. Hopefully it'll be gone soon.

Come September, here's how to stay healthy so I'll get to meet you (and JODI???):
1. Don't breathe.
2. Don't touch anything.

See? Easy health tips!

We had that flu in March. Yuck! I'm sorry y'all had to go through that, especially little Jodi. Rest up and feel better.

Loved the picture!

So, so sorry about the tummy bug, JoAnne! Had it in January--while my husband was away on a business trip, of course. Not fun at all. Hope everyone in your household returns to full health quickly!

You were missed at CCWC, JoAnne. You and your hubby and little Jodi. So many of us signed a card for you and your family to get well. I hope you get it soon.

And here's praying that nothing interferes with your appearance in Minneapolis. It'll be great having you there as I sign my very first book (and second) in the rotunda of the Mall of America with fellow ACFW authors surrounding me. You took a chance and bought my books, and I'd love to share that exciting experience with you.
