Remembering...

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, can I point back to a previous blog entry? In case someone missed reading my October 26, 2007 post, it’s very appropriate as we remember all the brave men and women who have fought and are fighting for our freedom. I'll say again how much I love my job with Barbour Publishing and Heartsong Presents, and it’s the feedback like in that post that makes my job so meaningful. I know God has placed me here working with awesome writers to help create books that inspire, encourage, and change lives because of the incredible love of Jesus Christ.

Pray for our troops this weekend. Thank God for how rich and blessed we are in this country. And remember that no matter what happens with government and politics and war, true freedom and security are found only in Jesus Christ.

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36

Have a wonderful Memorial Day!

Great post JoAnne (when I went back and read the Oct.07 post it gave me chills). How wonderful the Heartsong books are even reaching overseas to touch lives! And I love your comment about ultimate freedom and security in Jesus Christ - - so very true.
Blessings(and a hug
to Jodi!!)

Thank you for honoring our troops and reminding us what a wonderful impact we can have through prayer and also through our writing. My son Ben is in the Marines and due to go to Iraq in September. It's a blessing to know there are many people praying for him and those who serve with him
Thanks!

Thanks for the post, JoAnne. I just finished Karen Kingsbury's awesome book,"Ever After". It brought to life the sacrifice our men and women of our armed services have given (and continue to give) in the Middle East to keep us free. It was a very emotional story, but I couldn't put it down....only reach for more tissues.

It also makes me so proud that my father served 4 years in the army overseas during WWII as a medic. It wasn't until 2005 (a year before he died) that he would share with me some of the horrors he witnessed. I'll always cherish his sacrifice. Although it's hard for me to make a cemetery trip, I will do it today to honor my father and others who have fallen. All of our active members and veterans are in my prayers. A big thank you goes out to those brave men and women.

JoAnne, that post was amazing. It puts this whole calling/passion/joy/turmoil of writing into perspective. It's a wonderful reminder as I prepare to start another story.
