Doing Nothin'

Hello from Virginia Beach.

I've learned there is value in doing nothing. It is so relaxing just sitting and watching the beach, eating, sleeping, eating, and sitting.

We've had 25 in this large house at one time, all eating, sleeping, lounging, swimming, etc. Sunday night I made that Italian Sausage Soup for everyone with plenty left over.

Monday should have been the retirement ceremony for my brother-in-law, but my sister was sick and the navy brass approved delaying it for a day. I took my sister to a stat care place for medicine, and Tuesday she was able to attend the retirement.

I hope you all have a blessed Easter!

Becky

What a great crowd, Becky. Is this all your family? Or all that could make it?
I'm proud of your brother's service. I've got three brothers in law who were military, including one who is retired Navy

And I've got a niece who is in Iraq right now.
I figured she could stand to have her very own comment.
She's a medic.

What a great looking family! Sounds like you're having fun, too.

Hope you and all of your family (Barbour family included!) have a joyful Easter, too.

Becky, can I vacation with you next year? There is no such thing as "eating, sleeping, and lounging" with my hubby.

Can you say 6600 miles in 11 days, hmmm?

PS - Glad your sister was well enough to attend the retirement party.

Sounds like you had fun, Becky! I have fond memories of Virginia Beach. My husband (a retired pilot) and I were both in the Navy and stationed in Virginia Beach for 5 years. I loved the beach!

I love the coast and that beach photo is so peaceful that it's calling me. What a great family! Vacations are too short, so I hope you enjoy yourself and make lots of memories.

What a neat family. When I was a kid and some of my dad's nine siblings were still alive, we'd have big Sunday gatherings like yours at my grandparents' home. Now my family is all spread out. I even have a son in Iraq. I am grateful, though, that my two-year-old granddaughter lives here in Tulsa. I do miss those big gatherings. I hope you had a great time.

Lovely family, lovely vacation setting! Congratulations to your brother-in-law upon his retirement, and many thanks for his Navy service.

And sometimes "doing nothing" is good for the soul as well as the body and mind. I practice regularly. ;>)

Quiet - yeah - I am looking forward to doing nothing all week. I have had company all week and for weeks been pushing myself past my limits to catch up on 7 months of not being able to clean house. I had surgery and wasn't really ready for company to show up and I told them so. But my husband's brother wanted to see him so he wouldn't listen and neither would my husband. No one realizes what it really cost me and I've learned they really don't care. I'll find out tomorrow when I go see my surgeo if it caused it damage.
Hope you had a good Easter. Too cold here and no one here but me as my husband is now sleeping as he works tonight. Tv is acting up so unless you want to watch basketball nothing is on so I'm enjoying the quiet, reading a book, on computer, etc.
