I am counting the days until my due date of August 11th. It’s so hard to wait, but I’m trying to make the most of these last days before the baby arrives. The nursery is ready, my hospital bag is packed, and most of my “nesting” is taken care of. So, I’m keeping myself occupied with work, reading, and frequent dips in my parents’ swimming pool. I’m also super excited to see this movie tonight and am wondering if the intense action scenes might help put me into labor! :)
I keep having to remind myself that God’s timing is always best. There’s no need for me to rush things. He knows the future and has all the details planned out. It’s so good to know He has everything under control!
It seems like we’re always waiting on something in life, aren’t we? I know you authors need plenty of patience. The publishing world is full of waiting—for a response to a submission, for a contract to be signed, for a royalty check to come in the mail, and on and on. Our sinful natures want things to happen according to our wants and plans. But sometimes (okay, often) God’s wants and plans are different than ours. Always, they are the best, though!
So whatever you’re waiting for right now, remember this verse with me and pray for patience and peace: Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! Isaiah 30:18

I'll be praying for you, Joanne! Waiting is tough...and waiting for a new baby is really a challenge. Enjoy the pool, keep cool, and wait with expectation.
Blessings,
Carrie T.
You're due the eleventh, huh? In last week of pregnancy terms that's about a DECADE.
Hang in there.
The years fly by...but some days will NEVER END.
God bless you, JoAnne.
I had so much energy all during my pregnancy. The day Chaney was born I had rearranged furniture. She came at 3:14 the following morning. ;-) I've been tired ever since. LOL
If you're in a hurry, you might try rearranging the living room furniture. :-)
Babies are such a blessing--one of God's most beautiful miracles. I'm excited for you. My baby is 24 now so enjoy being a mom. The time passes too fast.
Well said, JoAnne. I am praying for you and your baby and your husband and your delivery. Once that little girl gets here, you'll forget all about your anxious desires to see her. (She'll probably make sure you see her plenty! :D)
How I concur with you (and Scripture) that God's timing is best. Sometimes waiting is hard, but He knows, He loves, and He never forgets. :-D
Enjoy these last few moments, talk to her lots while she's still inside and be prepared to just sit and stare with a goofy on your face for hours at your little when she comes. One thing you get really good at later is doing things with one hand. It's amazing.
Best prayers and wishes,
ll
Ooh, these are the last few days that you'll have complete control over her. Of course djuring the first months of life, babies move more and more...and the power struggle begins, just as it should! :) Enjoy the sweet moments while waiting. Um, and when the waiting is unbearable, enjoy the movies, walking the mall, etc. (I'm looking forward to seeing that one, too!) :) Praying for a speedy delivery...
Oh! We went and loved the Bourne Ultimatum. Eric and I thought it was the best yet.:-)
