Drastic Change

Yesterday was gorgeous. The mercury hit 80 degrees and the daffodils were all smiling brightly. Yesterday I had the air-conditioning on in the car. But today is a different story. The wind started beating the wind chime early this morning, and the temperatures have been falling steadily ever since. The heater is back on in the car, and the gloves are out to pump gas. Mr. Weatherman says we are likely to see snow showers tonight and into Sunday. In fact, our Easter is predicted to be 10 degrees cooler than our Christmas. CRAZY!

(I'd tell you the pictures were of yesterday and today, but that would be exaggerating. The first is my house in March. The second was taken in February.)

I'm a steady pace kind of girl. I don't like a lot of bumps in the road, and when I have to change direction, I tend to need to know why so I can buy into it. I'm not saying I can't handle change; I do pretty well with it. I just don't enjoy having things thrown at me too quickly. I need time to adjust.

Last year saw some changes for our publishing house, most visible being that a few people had to be laid off. The bump in the road was a hard felt one, but the reason for taking the hit was well explained and everyone shared in the burden. Now we can see where the adjustments made last year are being rewarded in this year. Authors can be assured that the company is weathering today's market well and enjoying sunny skies.

I believe it is typical among most author personalities to avoid change, but as Christians we need not fear it. We have an unchanging God who has all things under His control. When we fully trust in Him for our future we can handle any change that may come - even the return of winter in the midst of spring.
But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Psalm 33:11 NIV

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
Blessings,
Becky

Beautiful post, Becky. Uplifting. Thanks. P.S. I like your pictures. Down here in Florida, we're supposed to get a cool weekend, too, a reflection of what y'all are getting. Happy Easter.

You don't have snow yet? I'm only 2 hours north(east) of you guys, but I slid right past the entrance ramp to Rt. 11, taking my daughter to school this morning. Wheee! We've got about 5 inches of snow. And yes, we had 78 degree weather yesterday, too.

I hate snow! I'm ready, oh so ready, for spring to be here. Here to STAY, til summer, not keep flipping back and forth to winter. Why do I live in NE Ohio, anyway? It's not like I shouldn't expect this! :-)

It snowed this morning (Thursday) enough to coat the nice green grass and ice up the roads. 26 degrees as I was driving in to work.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..." Oh, yes, it's snowing here--and it's just beautiful! I love snow...even at Easter time. :o)

Snow on Easter Sunday. I had trouble feeling like it was really Easter. Cozied up by the fireplace all afternoon.

I guess I'd take snow over tornadoes on Easter (or in my case--Palm Sunday)but this is not my cup o' tea. But He is Risen!
Cut your grass one day--shovel the snow the next. I am so ready for spring to come back!
