This is my favorite Christmas movie.
But maybe it's all about the romance of train travel, snowy New England Inns and of course, I love it when people just break into song without any preparation and they all know the words.

That's my kind of reality!

Christmas used to mean the Mitch Miller Christmas Album but now it's the Carpenter's Christmas. Over and Over again. I think my kids feel the void as they've never gone out and bought it for themselves. They want it playing at mom's when they come over. It's the only way to get through all those hours of cookie-baking!Debra E. White Christmas is a classic watched every year at this time...and even outside the Christmas season.

I also love Holiday Inn, which features the song White Christmas. :)

Other favorites are Two-Steppin' Round the Christmas Tree, Tennessee Christmas by Amy Grant, and all of Amy's Christmas albums as well as Point of Grace.

Our Christmas music comes out the day after Thanksgiving, when our decorations go up, and we play all the way through the end of the year. Here's a bit of trivia: Did you know the song "White Christmas" was actually made for another Bing Crosby Christmas movie called "Holiday Inn" with Fred Astaire? The song was so popular that they made a movie by the same title. Both are great movies with plenty of wonderful songs. Got to love Christmas!

BethBeth Loughnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03014536375199305152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157905786947425443.post-26484328116234011502009-12-04T15:16:06.744-05:002009-12-04T15:16:06.744-05:00Snow! My own Christmas song is featured on Comfort-cafe.net this month. It's not Irving Berlin, but it's from my heart. I hope you'll listen to it.
Let the Christmas music begin!Jan Clinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16617976979678082323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157905786947425443.post-49881441171371003772009-12-04T14:28:21.061-05:002009-12-04T14:28:21.061-05:00Ack! I usually start in September and have been known to start the whole Christmas in July thing. I have to say, being from the Volunteer state, Amy Grant's "Tennessee Christmas" is a favorite. I also love Newsong's "The Christmas Shoes." I LOVE Michael Buble's and Harry Connick, Jr.'s Christmas CDs, as well as anything by Sandi Patty. Travis Cottrell, Caleb Collins, and David Archuleta's new one are also favs. Any old Christmas movie is a must. "It's a Wonderful Life" still makes me shed a few. Love Peanuts and the Grinch, and enjoy singing that one in the bass. :) Also, I love "A Christmas Carol." George C. Scott's version is my favorite, but I truly enjoyed the new one. See it in 3-D if you can. It really has a scene with a cross that amazed me. As you can see, I am definitely a Christmas geek!Aaron McCarvernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157905786947425443.post-30285450670382595762009-12-04T14:08:22.338-05:002009-12-04T14:08:22.338-05:00Yes, the movie "White Christmas" is the ...Yes, the movie "White Christmas" is the best!! WOW! It was the first time I'd ever seen it. And while no one can compare to Bing Crosby, there's just something about seeing a story like this live, with an audience. This song really brings back the memories of that experience.Kaye Dacushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04187774900100851982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157905786947425443.post-10005257330074407932009-12-04T11:48:34.426-05:002009-12-04T11:48:34.426-05:00ACK!
