Introducing: Kelsey Keller

Kelsey Keller recently joined the Barbour team as an assistant marketing manager. Here's some more about her:

My name is Kelsey Keller. I am 25 years old and currently live in New Philadelphia, OH. I was born and raised in Dover, OH and I am the youngest of six children. I attended Kent State University where I majored in Applied Communication and minored in Management and Informational Systems and in Business.

What interests you about the publishing industry?
I love how each person at Barbour contributes a small piece of what sometimes becomes a bestselling novel. I love looking at the copy someone produces for a novel, the cover of the book… I just love the creativity of it! With my job, I get to see the final product and it amazes me that as a team, we helped create it.

What brought you to Barbour?
I was born and raised in Dover, OH, and I attended Kent State University so the whole idea of staying close to home has been a huge factor in where my life takes me. I come from a close knit family (the youngest of six kids) and most of my family lives in this area. When I found out Barbour was hiring, I instantly jumped on the opportunity.

What is your new role at Barbour?
Having a job as an Assistant Marketing Manager, I have no set routine because I do a variety of things. I post reviews, write and submit press releases, and design publicity/advertising pieces for upcoming events. I feel this is the perfect job because I am the type of person who gets bored doing the same thing every day!

Being from a close family, how would you describe your family?
I do come from a very close family. We are large in numbers also and living in a small area such as Tuscarawas County it is hard to get away with something without anyone in my family hearing about it. It is hard to use words to describe my family so I will just use some popular movies/television shows that give more of a visual. If you were to combine the families from the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding and the television show Everybody Loves Raymond you would get my family. We are a large, loud Italian family.

Where is your favorite place to vacation?
The Outerbanks, NC is my favorite place to vacation. My family tries to go there every other summer.

What is your favorite food?
I have two favorite foods broccoli cheese casserole and cheesy potatoes. I guess I like cheese... hmmm does that make me a cheesy person?!

What is your favorite book?
I have more than one favorite book. There are so many different genres that it’s hard to pick just one so I will just list some authors I enjoy.
Kurt Vonnegut
Randy Pausch (The Last Lecture)
Mitch Albom
Audrey Niffenegger
John Grissham
Nicholas Sparks

Hi, Kelsey! It's so great getting to know a little bit about you. I'm so glad God brought you to Barbour.

Your family sounds great. I live a long way from any of my family, but in the midst of all my husband's family.

Hi Kelsey,
I know exactly where you live...well at least the town because my cousin married someone from New Philly. Know any Hupps?
Blessings on your career at Barbour!

I am not familiar with any Hupps, but I am sure someone in my family(grandmother) knows some.
