Are you on Facebook? We need your input!

We’ve had a project on the back burner for a while now to get a Heartsong Page up on Facebook. So on Monday Karen Miller, our Director of Marketing for Heartsong, and I are going to meet to brainstorm ideas for content and get the logistics of the page down.

Here’s where you come in: Are you on Facebook? If you became a fan of our Heartsong Presents page, what would you want to see on it?

We welcome any input, so bring on the comments, please!

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Are you on Facebook?
>>>Yes, I'm on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/cecelia.dowdy

If you became a fan of our Heartsong Presents page, what would you want to see on it?
>>>Maybe it could be a place used to give Heartsong presents authors and novels more exposure; maybe place recent book covers with blurbs and allow others to interact with the authors of the novels? Would it be possible to place a notice in the Heartsong novels and the Heartsong Presents website, letting the reader know that HP is now on Facebook?

Yes, I'm on Facebook. I've had a regular account for several months, but I just set up a Fan group today so that I can tell readers about new releases and other book info. I think it's a great idea for Heartsong. It's another way to spread the news about the book club and gain readers you might not get otherwise. It could also be a place for authors and readers to interact.

I'm on Facebook (probably too often ;) ) and I love the idea of a Heartsong Presents page.

What would I like to see?

a slideshow of cover art? author page links? information about how to join the book club, a place for readers to comment and authors to respond?

I have been on Facebook for awhile now. I would like to read more about the books being released and the authors.

I love the idea of Heartsong Presents being on Facebook. In addition to letting readers know how to subscribe to the book club, how about giving them other options to buy the books? A lot of people don't know how to get the books.

I like Cecelia's idea to show the book covers and blurbs as well as opportunities to interact with the authors. I also think Erica's idea of having links to author pages would help us connect with readers.

I would like for there to be a place to enter contest for free books, and a pretty icon to place on facebook. I am a member of facebook and would put your icon on my site.

Yes, I am on Facebook. It would be great to have a page for Heartsong. You can announce all the new books, so readers who are not members can order books and see what a great selection you offer. Author links is a very good idea.

I'm on Facebook. What wouuld I like to see?

Reminders of new books coming out. Links to the authors & contests you have regularly

This is a great way to make Heartsong more visible.

One more thing - Becky - I just noticed you are an Elizabeth Gaskell fan. North & South is WONDERFUL, isn't it? Have you seen the movie?

(sorry for the topic change ;-)

I'm on face book also.

It would be nice to have a weekly reader/author chat. Let the readers get to know your authors. Might be fun.

I'm another Facebook member and really enjoy the chance to see what everyone in my friends list is up to.

I'd love to see a Heartsong Presents page, and I think everybody else pretty much covered the potential content. Mainly it should be a place where fans feel welcome to visit with their favorite authors and see what's coming out soon. Another idea would be to host book discussion groups.

Yes, I am on FaceBook and would definitely become a fan of the Heartsong Presents page! I would enjoy reading blurbs about recent books, and also information about the authors (author interviews, etc.). I hope this will materialize! :)

I think Facebook would be a great way to advertise Heartsongs Presents! I would definately become a fan. It seems that lately everyone I know is joining Facebook. I would love to see other Barbour fiction on there as well and maybe even the Edit Cafe? It would be great to get daily updates right on my Facebook page!
Maybe someday?

I'm on Facebook and think it would be great to have a Heartsong Presents page. It would be fun to be able to interact with our readers and other authors. I like all the suggestions that have been given.

I'm on Facebook. There are lots of great ideas on the comments section here. I'd like to add that with so many other publishers on Facebook, Heartsong also needs a "presence." When I finally took the plunge to join Facebook, it was mainly because I didn't want to be absent when other authors have a presence there. :)

I am on Facebook and Twitter and Blogger (like Edit Cafe)
I have my twitter page and my blogs (two fo them) set to automatically post on my Facebook page. It's a way to spread the word a bit farther and not duplicate efforts.
I haven't been able (for some reason I don't understand) to put my twitter and blogger sites on my facebook fanpage. The facebook application always 'fails' I have no idea why it worked on my reagular facebook page and not my fan page, which I post to successfully all the time.

So, your Meartsong Facebook page would put up Edit Cafe automatically.

I alway have my blogger pages load on my AMazon author's page.

New book releases. Covers. Interviews. It would all be good and since many, many hp authors have blogs if there was some way for some of their blogs to be directed to that Facebook page very simply, with all the bloggers you have it wouldn't be a lot of work for anyone.

Except it always is, isn't it? :)
