Susan is stuck in California.
Last Thursday they drove from the coast (53 degrees) over the mountains and into brutal 111-degree weather. Friday David was sick with apparent dehydration. Saturday he was admitted to the hospital where they were monitoring his diabetes, but also found infection in a lung and an ear.
Susan was going to fly home Sunday out of Salt Lake City and he was going to ride the motorcycle home alone, but that has changed. They'll likely have to store the bike and fly home together as soon as he is fit for travel.
Please keep them in your prayers.

I've been praying steadily for them. Thanks for the update, Becky.
Once it's all over and everything's okay, they'll look back at this as one of those awful/memorable vacation sagas, "Remember this time we..."
That might take a few years, though. :(
